On Monday, in honor of Veterans day, Major Gavin Ellman visited our Kindergarten to talk about his experiences in the US Army. The students learned about his uniform, his training and his experiences in the army. He led the students in some pushups and jumping jacks and showed the students his army issued siddur and pictures of the kosher food he ate in the army.

Second grade girls are hard at work finishing up their fiber art hearts. They shaped pipe cleaners into hearts and are not completing the challenging task of weaving yarn into beautiful designs and patterns around their hearts.

The lower school boys and girls had a blast dancing and singing together in honor of Rosh Chodesh this past Friday.

Middle Schoolers had a blast participating in teambuilding activities during this week's advisory.

Using a fun life-sized game of Clue, Middle School Girls broke out their Big Sister-Little Sister program. Now the "Little Sisters" need to unlock the mystery of who their "Big Sisters" are using hints their sisters will be leaving them throughout the week.

Fifth Grade boys and girls took an educational and fun trip to Lake Lanier to do experiments on and with the water.

Fourth Graders delved into the characteristics of King Mildred in the book "The Dragonslayers" by Bruce Coville during their reading centers.

Receiving Pen Pal letters from grandparents and other cherished family members is a big highlight for kindergarteners. Not only do students learn important writing and communication skills but they get to practice the art of patience as they wait for their next letter to come.

Torah Day School's Sukkah Contest is underway. As you walk the halls of TDSA it's hard to miss the beautiful and creative sukkos that are lining the hallways. The creativity on display is astounding and no two sukkahs are alike.

For the last two weeks TDSA's first through fourth graders have been challenged to stretch a single paper as long as possible by cutting it into a paper chain and using only scissors and tape. We wonder who's chain will be the longest.
