Over the course if this year, Mrs. Castle's seventh and eighth grade students have been examining all the different elements that make up the Human Body. This week's focus was all about the skin. The 7th grade boys used toothpicks to test the sensitivity of the palms of their hands or the tips of their fingers to see how nerve endings in different parts of the hand responded to touch. It was interesting to see which parts of the hand were more sensitive to tactile impact and to discuss why that would be the case.
