Why can't we see stars during the day? TDSA's Kindergarten students learned that the reason why we don't see stars during the day is because the brightness of the sun drowns out the brightness of the stars during the day. At night, without the sunlight blotting it out, the stars are able to shine through. To demonstrate this, the students used cups and an LED light to create star projectors in the shape of the Big Dipper constellation. When the light in the room was on, they could barely see their star projection, but once they turned it of it was nice and visible!
