Prepare to be wowed by our 8th grade’s scientific prowess. As part of their unit on the phases of matter, the 8th graders have been studying the process of sublimation, the chemical process where a solid transitions directly from the solid phase of matter to a gaseous state of matter without becoming a liquid first. The 8th grade boys and girls had a fantastic time demonstrating this process by experimenting with dry ice which formed clouds of ghostly vapor when exposed to the air.
