In preparation for Rosh Hashana, 4B learned all about the 3 different patterns the shofar is blown in. Each time the shofar is blown a Tekiah comes and the beginning and the end. The class learned that the differences in the patterns depend on what sound is blown in the middle. This can be compared to a sandwich-bread on the top and bottom, different fillings in the middle. We demonstrated this by making sandwiches using graham crackers or bananas as the top and bottom, with a choice of 4 different frostings for the filling in the middle.
